This week's discovery: I enjoy McDonald's coffee far more than Starbucks. Plain coffee, that is. If I'm getting iced coffee or some sort of specialty drink, Starbucks is way superior. But, for just regular coffee at 6:15 in the morning on the way to work, McDonald's definitely hits the spot. Plus, it is exactly on my way to work. No turning off the road I travel on except to drive in a circle through the drive through, whereas Starbucks requires at least three extra turns. For $1.51, that McDonald's coffee sure does the trick in the morning!

Crazy, busy week. After my third eye appointment in a week's time, I think I've finally found the right prescription for my contacts. Thankfully! Hopefully I'll be able to order the contacts and a new pair of glasses within the week. It's about time since I've been waiting several months to get an eye appointment and new contacts. Seeing is very important and this week has taught me to not take it for granted!

Tomorrow is Friday. Guess what that means? Zumba! I'm so very excited :)

New Look

If you remember, I talked about creating a new blog, sort of like a fresh start after college. However, I have quite the little following now, and decided that I'd like to keep Never Too Late for Coffee for a while longer. I'm trying out a new look, so let me know what you think! Bright, cheery colors are always fun and I have this new thing for the color orange....

Life has been a frustrating, wonderful mess as of late. Struggles at work, trying to keep up with the pace and learn as much as possible, as well as the continued struggle for contentment leave me exhausted most days. This past weekend brought a change of pace, as well as a small celebration of my graduation and NCLEX-passing. Mom worked so hard to make it beautiful, which of course it was! It was such a blessing to see all of the people who have meant so much to me over the years. Seeing all of them and reading their notes of encouragement/memories reminded me of the numerous prayers that have been lifted to heaven on my behalf since I was a young girl. God is the One who carried me through the many discouraging years of high school and on into college, where tears were shed on an almost daily basis. I am so thankful for each one of my brothers and sisters who has taken the time to encourage me through words, actions, and prayers. I am truly blessed!

The fact that I am finished with college and now living in the "real world" still feels unreal to me. Watching Josiah go back to school last weekend was bittersweet. I'm thankful to be done with college, but now I have to learn an all new way of life, which is a challenge! Good thing I don't walk this road alone :)

In other news, I finally joined the YMCA. Tonight was my second Zumba class and boy was it hard! This instructor likes to "wiggle" a lot, which is a lot harder than it sounds! I'm hoping that the more I go, the better I will get at Zumba and dancing in general. The instructor has a strong dance background, so salsa plays a large role in her routines. Maybe I'll actually be able to salsa dance soon!

Work tomorrow and Thursday, then spending the weekend in Bartlesville with some friends. I'm positive that lots of coffee is on the agenda for the rest of the week. Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today marks the beginning of my weekend! I fell asleep at 8:45 last night, which is very unusual for me, but I feel very rested this morning! I am drinking my morning coffee and browsing pictures on Pinterest, starting the morning off slow. I'm okay with that :)

I'm missing Kenya today. Usually that's true of most days, but some are bigger missing days than others. Today is one of those days. It may be hard for some people to understand why, since my return 2 years ago, I seem to obsess over a place that I have only visited twice. All I can say is, I fell in love. I fell in love with the country, with the faces, with the sights, with the sounds, with the smells. I know I didn't experience everything about it and there are things that I wouldn't like, but I want to experience them. Some day, I will return. Until then, I will talk to my friends who live there, look at the hundreds of pictures I have looked at hundreds of times, and pray that the day will come soon when I will again set foot in Kenya. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from Kenya....

Coffee Week

Today was day 2 of 3 of work. I'm pretty sure I drank enough coffee the past two days to equal or exceed the amount I normally drink in a week. I can't even explain why. I guess this week is just a coffee week. Oh, well. Tomorrow morning I will make a trip to Starbucks before work - something new I've started for Wednesdays. I like this new tradition so much, I may keep it :)

The t-shirt quilt project is not yet underway. However, I now have my mom on board, which means that I won't be working on it alone. Way more fun to sew with Mom than alone, I've decided. Maybe it won't be so boring that way. Thursday we'll go pick out the backing and maybe even start cutting it out. I'm really going to make a quilt!

I came to the conclusion today that I'm done with summer. Every day when I walk outside I will the weather to turn cool soon so that fall isn't hot. October is my favorite month and the hot summer better not ruin it for me! I'm so excited for hot apple cider, pumpkins, and cardigans!

Off to bed now. Yay for Wednesdays that are really Fridays! Goodnight all!
